One of the most prevalent issues is digital eye strain, which can lead to blurred vision, headaches, and even myopia in children. Prolonged exposure to blue light emitted by smartphone screens can also disrupt the natural sleep cycle, contributing to sleep disorders. Additionally, the sedentary nature of smartphone usage has been linked to childhood obesity, as children spend less time engaging in physical activities.
Another alarming trend is the rise of musculoskeletal disorders in children, such as text neck and carpal tunnel syndrome, due to poor posture. Furthermore, the constant stimulation can lead to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and impaired cognitive development.
